U.S. Alliance Receives New Product Award from Store Brands Magazine

Edgewood, NY – April 3, 2017 – U.S. Alliance Paper took a top new products honor from Store Brands magazine in the second annual Editor’s Pick Awards program. Open to private label manufacturers and retailer self-manufacturers, a team of editors judged non-food products introduced in 2016 on innovation, functionality/quality and visual presentation, and awarded a bronze medal to U.S. Alliance Paper for its premium TAD paper products.

The introduction of TAD (Through Air-Dried) technology has allowed U.S. Alliance Paper to effectively manufacture value products for the premium and super premium end of the spectrum. In the TAD process, virgin fiber is dried with extremely hot air to develop a soft and airy structure, rather than pressing and flattening the fiber, giving consumers the “fluffier”, stronger, and more absorbent attributes they are looking for.

U.S. Alliance Paper now covers the full spectrum of paper grades and quality tiers to flexibly develop customized paper programs for its private label retailers. Said Steve Saraf, Vice President of Sales, “We help our customers quantify product movement, identify opportunities for margin improvement, and develop a complete program or specific value alternative to national brands. We have the flexibility to manufacture products in custom sizes and sheet counts, including super-sized rolls, in any paper grade – mixed, recycled, CFP® certified, and TAD – and quality tier from traditional, mid-tier, to premium.”

Said Lawrence Aylward, editor-in-chief for Store Brands, “Our editorial team spent nearly two days judging entries, and we came away very impressed with many of the items, which exhibit the important attributes needed today for successful store brands, such as exclusivity and personalization. Congratulations to our winners and to all of the companies who participated in the program.”

U.S. Alliance Paper Wins Trailblazer Award Third Year in a Row

Edgewood, NY – March 1, 2016 – For the third year in a row, U.S. Alliance Paper was awarded the 2016 Private Label Trailblazer Award by Grocery Headquarters magazine. Grocery Headquarters is a monthly publication featuring news, research, marketing and merchandising trends for decision makers in the grocery channel.

The annual Trailblazer Award recognizes new product innovation and excellence by private label manufacturers. With younger generations, like Millennials and Gen-X, showing a lower percentage of brand loyalty—20-30 percent, according to data from WSL Strategic Retail—there is more room for private brands to capture market share. “Private brand share continues to grow as retailers realize that outlets with the highest share of private brands across the store, from traditional supermarkets and warehouse clubs to specialty retailers and discounters, are more successful and profitable overall,” wrote the editor.

“We are really honored to receive this important recognition for the third year in a row,“ said John Sarraf, President of U.S. Alliance Paper. “It is a validation of our emphasis on innovation and service excellence. This has been a big year for us. We introduced our Rainforest Alliance (RA) and Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified products as well as TAD (Through Air-Dried) products. As a result, our retail partners are enjoying significant consumer demand as we work with them to enhance their paper programs and margins.”

U.S. Alliance Paper Receives Green Light from Forest Stewardship Council®

Edgewood, NY -- October 15, 2015 – U.S. Alliance Paper, one of the leading private label tissue manufacturers in the nation, will proudly display the Rainforest Alliance (RA) and Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) trademarks on certain of its products.

For U.S. Alliance Paper, FSC certification is a huge step,” said John Sarraf, President. “Virgin fiber is preferred for its superior quality and represents the bulk of our raw material purchases. We are now able to ensure that these raw materials are purchased from suppliers who adhere to responsible forest management principles, uniting our company, our retail partners, and ultimately the consumers in a common effort to be good stewards of this fragile resource. Now we are able to offer our retailers a comprehensive range of paper grades and quality tiers, and their shoppers a superior quality product with no negative environmental impact.”

"The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certification process is rigorous by design," added Steve Saraf, Vice President of Sales, "in order to create a common definition for the otherwise vague and subjective notion of sustainability." FSC is a worldwide organization that defines a strict set of standards that a company must meet in order to prove that they are truly environmentally and socially responsible. Independent audits ensure chain-of-custody (CoC) compliance so that both retailers and consumers can be confident that they are making the right choices for the environment.

About the Company:

U.S. Alliance Paper, Inc. is a leading private label manufacturer of high quality household paper napkins, bath tissue, kitchen towels and facial tissue in a full range of paper grades, including FSC® certified fiber. Additionally, the company manufactures control brands under the trade names Daisy and Delicate Touch. Headquartered on Long Island, the company delivers superior price-value products to consumers, and a competitive advantage over national brands to its retail partners with award-winning service, flexibility and reliability.
